About Shanley Pump and Equipment, Inc.

Shanley Pump and Equipment, Inc. is an International Pump distributor of specialty positive displacement and centrifugal pumps for difficult pumping applications. We offer high-quality pumps and industry-leading service to the pump market. Our pump customers are mainly located in Industrial North America, but we do sell, ship and service our pump products and pump parts for many pumping applications for a wide variety of industries all over the world.

Shanley Pump is centrally located near Chicago, Illinois, USA. We are located very close to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world and we ship many emergency pump orders via airfreight to serve our customers needs. In addition, the large industrial and transportation infrastructure of greater Chicago provides us with key business tools to support our pump customers with quick delivery and services.

This, along with our great employees and our top quality pump product lines, enables us to support our pump customers with what they expect from us and that is pumping solutions and fast services for their most challenging pump applications.

We run and maintain a modern storage warehouse for inventory and a pump workshop. By doing this, we are able to react quickly to the needs of the customers and offer immediate delivery of pumps, pump packages with motors and pump spare parts. We build pumps, mount pumps and motors, install customer specified shaft seals and offer many other ancillary systems like VFD's, speed controllers, dry run protection devices, pressure gauges, seal systems, etc.

Our shop and service capabilities and vast pump experience enables us to provide fast value added services so important to the pump industry today.

We have the capability to repair every pump we sell. Many customers send their worn out or broken pumps back to Shanley Pump after years of service and we then repair the pump and it is sent back to them. Starting with a pump inquiry we spend many hours helping our pump customers study their applications before they buy a pump, and we offer trouble shooting expertise to pump users over the phone or via email, etc. 24 hours a day.

We provide analysis of fluids and operating conditions for assisting our customers in applying the correct pumps and materials of constructions for difficult pump applications. We then take this knowledge with us to the manufacturing stage, where we will build you a pump that is ideally suited to your unique needs for an excellent price.

Our History

photos of Larry Shanley Sr.In 1988, Larry Shanley Sr. founded our company, Shanley Pump and Equipment, Inc. Mr. Shanley has many years of specialty pump experience. He started working with pumps in 1965 as a pump application engineer at IMO Pumps, specializing in 3 rotor and 2 rotor positive displacement screw pumps. His keen interest in pumps blossomed and continues to this day, 47 years later. His expertise in positive displacement and special centrifugal pumps made him sought after in the pump market.

In 1970 he was hired by Roper pumps to manage their 3 rotor and progressive cavity pump sales. In 1978 he was hired by *Allweiler® pumps from Germany and started *Allweiler® Pump, Inc. for the North American distribution on *Allweiler® 3 rotor, 2 rotor progressive cavity and specialty centrifugal pump lines like Thermal Oil Pumps.

In 1988, Mr. Shanley decided to diversify his products to meet the needs of the market and started his own independent company. At Shanley Pump and Equipment, Inc. we are continually looking for new and up to date pump solutions for our specialty pump markets.

Shanley Pump was the exclusive importer for allweiler Pumps from Germany to North america from 1988 until allweiler was sold to Colfax in 2001.

Through the years we have added other important specialty pump product lines to our mix like EDUR Centrifugal Pumps, Liberty Process Equipment Progressive Cavity Pumps, Hilge® Beverage Transfer Pumps, SEIM® 3 Rotor Screw Pumps, Tecnium® Engineered Plastic Pumps and our newest product line, Speck® Thermal Oil Pumps.

Shanley Pump and Equipment, Inc. has important succession planning in place to insure the company's growth and prosperity into the next generation. Larry Shanley, Jr. became President of Shanley pump in 2001. Randi Shanley Rooney is vice president and has also worked for the company since her graduation from Law School in 1988. Both have worked at the company since 1978. The third generation of Shanley's are now working at Shanley Pump.
